old_man_scar2 Rock slide scars appear lighter in color than the surrounding rock, because the new rock being exposed after the slide has not been exposed to the forces of weathering. The far right scar marks the rock slide of the Old Man. The larger, bright slide scar near the center of the photo occured a couple of years earlier.
